New Feat:
Butchery I
Butchery: Take a freshly-killed corpse and, in ten minutes, turn it into a Cut you’ve learned. Any character can eat a Cut to get its effects. The rest of the creature can be consumed as mundane meals. Uneaten Cuts go stale, and all eaten Cuts’ effects wear off, at the end of the day.
Each rank of Butchery acts as a prerequisite to the following rank. Purchasing another rank allows you to choose another Cut.
Pick one:
Trotters: Double your movement speed.
Marrow: Heal 1 HP.
Sweetmeats: Immediately save to cure one chosen disease, poison, or other condition currently afflicting you.
Shank: This Cut is a melee weapon that deals 3k1 damage.
Forebrain: You gain +1 to a random skill the monster possessed in life.
Offal: Poison dealing 1k1 damage an hour. Can be applied to weapons or surfaces, or covertly slipped into food.
Butchery II
Pick one:
Paté: You become highly suggestible, as under the effects of a Charm Person spell.
Lard: When carefully applied over an area (takes 10 min), acts as a Web spell. Flammable
Tongue: You can speak to and understand creatures of this type.
Sirloin: Gain +1 to a Characteristic representative of the source (eg. Spider > Dexterity).
Stewed Head: All who gaze upon your twisted visage make a TN15 fear test (including allies).
Blood Pudding: Exsanguinates from inside-out. -2 to all Physical Characteristics.
Butchery III
Pick one:
Raw Dripping Heart: You instantly enter a state of Frenzy for 5 rounds.
Hindbrain: You get the fractured, dizzying memories of the creature’s last day.
Bone Stew: Your nails and teeth become long and wicked sharp, giving you a 3k3 R Pen 2 natural weapon.
Soul Food: You can ask one question of the monster’s spirit before it passes on. It must answer truthfully, though may answer maliciously (you are eating it, after all).
Corpse Rendering: Instead of making a Cut, you can take an hour and use a large cauldron of boiling water to render a corpse into thaumaturgical lard, which allows the butcher to do minimal spellcasting. Monsters render into spells relevant to their place in the ecosystem or their abilities (ex. giant spider ==> Web,, bandit captain → command). Spellcasters render into a random spell they knew in life.
