Apocryphal Sword School: Dark Edge
See no, hear no evil, beyond the evil in the hearts of all beings. The Evil in our own hearts, the Dark Edge. A set of techniques meant to harness this innate, forbidden Darkness that burns so hot it hurts. These techniques set out to prove there are no heroes, just villains with good publicity. There are no Gods, just bullies more popular than others. And everyone, everyone bleeds just the same.
A disciple of Dark Edge fills their minds Forbidden Lore, for a dark art as ancient, shadowed and secret as Dark Edge is Forbidden knowledge unto itself. They out fence and out skill their opponents with Evil Katanas and other Dark weapons, seemingly teleporting behind their foes mid-battle and cutting them down. The forgotten first practitioner of the Dark Edge style is said to be a youth that swore they would cast all bullies like the gods down, becoming a veritable anti-bully ranger.
A character entering the Edgemaster class track for the first time may gain access to Dark Edge instead of the Viae Furoris Sword School.
Level 1: Apprentice
-Weapon (Daemonic): Use weapons that have the Daemonic special quality with your martial maneuvers.
-Action (Shift): Use Shift actions with your martial maneuvers. The benefit from this special attack applies to your next standard attack unless stated otherwise; that attack may not be a special attack.
Level 2: Initiate
(-2)Double Edged: If this attack misses your target, it hits you instead.
(1*)No More Heroes: An opponent hit by this attack loses the use of 1 unspent Hero Point for every level you have of this Advantage. The Hero Point may however still be burnt.
Level 3: Journeyman
(-1)Skill (Forbidden Lore): As part of this attack, make a Forbidden Lore test against the Static Defense of the target. If it fails, the attack fails.
(1*)Soul Split: Targets hit by this attack must make an immediate Alignment Check. For every time this advantage is added to the attack beyond the first, the target takes a -1 to their Alignment Check.
Level 4: Master
-Mastery (Barely Contained Power): Your Special Attacks gain Penetration equal to the number of points of Restrictions they have.
(1)Xtreme Flourish: This attack gains a static bonus to damage equal to the number of Advantage points on it.
Level 5: Grandmaster
(2)Crawling In My Skin: This attack gains the Festering property: The wounds dealt by this weapon cannot be healed by spending resource points or magical healing - only time.

If using Optional Replacement Sword School Rules: A character entering the first level of any class progression that offers the Shadow Hand sword school can choose instead to gain access to the Dark Edge sword school from that class. The inversion holds true as well, with classes with the Dark Edge style being able to substitute in Shadow Hand instead. This choice applies only when entering the first level of a class, and applies to all levels in that class's progression afterward.
