What does it mean to live in truth? To wage war against the passing of days, to pray to the unseen for a few breaths more? Ours is a fragile Wheel, and little within is as fragile as mortal life. Their kind is easy to fathom, they go on living from simple fear of death. But not you.
Arisen are ordinary individuals who rise against impossible challenges, and are awakened unto the Wheel as they defy the odds. A serf against a dragon, a farmer against a daemon prince. They come to face death incarnate arms-in-hand. But heed the fallen Arisen’s lesson well: when the weak court death, they find it.
Tell: The tell of an Arisen comes as a fiery halo from within silhouetting their heart. Known as “the spark”, it causes awe in the eyes of mortals, and betrays some supernatural force resonating with the Arisen’s deeds.
Powers:
Heroics: The Arisen begins play with 2 extra Hero Points.
Vocational: The Arisen may treat one non-optional feat in each class as optional.
Exemplar: The Arisen’s allies may purchase a single feat from a level 1 class the Arisen knows. Each time the Arisen increases their Conviction an additional feat from one higher level may be purchased.
Oblige: The Arisen clears all Fatigue and may reroll against ongoing effects when they receive Aid Another even if they normally couldn’t reroll.
Power Stat: Conviction
Though Arisen feel the call to action, it is ever their own feet, their own will that carries them on their path. That Conviction is their greatest weapon. Its power resonates in the hearts of their allies just as it rattles the resolve of their sworn enemies. Often words of destiny and fate are spoken of the Arisen, words often thrown at the feet of any Exalted. Whatever meaning life holds, know this: your life belongs to no other. You’ve won it by rights. It is yours to use or cast away as you see fit. Remember that, newly Arisen.
Resource Stat: Resolve. Resolve and resource points are one and the same for the Arisen. In addition to regular methods of regaining Resolve each day an ally may make a social attack against TN 10 giving the Arisen one Resolve plus one for each raise. The Arisen’s initial max Resolve is equal to their Conviction + Willpower + Composure.
Conviction | Power Gained |
★ | Concord - The Arisen may spend Hero Points to benefit their allies and vice versa. |
★★ | Virtuosity - The Arisen may spend Resolve to add Advantages of equal value to an appropriate attack of theirs, ignoring point limits and need for Restrictions. |
★★★ | Integrity - The Arisen ignores penalties to their dice rolls; self imposed stacking penalties are halved, rounding up. |
★★★★ | Fusillade - Once per session when the Arisen is included in a stunt all characters in the stunt may spend a Hero Point to take or repeat a Half Action. |
★★★★★ | Heirloom - The Arisen acquires any Artifact they wish, including items that normally could not be Artifacts. It always comes with a Hearthstone slot which is fitted with any Hearthstone desired. Alternatively an existing Artifact may be enhanced, granting an additional Artifact Material, and the additional Hearthstone. |
Arisen Virtue Assets
Acuity
You can create spell combos or improve them with Resolve. Before rolling a Focus Power test spend Resolve equal to the level of spells to be added, following all limitations of spell combos.
Ambition
You may use features that may be used a certain number of times per session, scene or day twice as many times. You may spend a Hero Point to use one such feature an additional time beyond its limits.
Comprehension
When a class gives the option of choosing one feat over another you can choose the other later, treating it as optional. When a feat has multiple options you can choose an additional option.
Patience
If you end your turn with an unspent Half Action or Full Action it carries over to the next turn. Only one action carries over with a priority for Full Actions.
Prowess
When you create a special attack or trick shot you also create an alternate attack linked to it with the same XP cost. If you improve one, you also improve the other equally. When you use a linked attack the other cannot be used that scene.
