Not entirely certain where was appropriate to ask this, but this seemed like the best place.
I seem to recall that the pdf layout templates used to create the official "books" were at one point readily available. As if nothing else they were used for book 3, back when that was a thing.
Are these templates still available?
I intend to "update" the first and second books with the community exalt updates, for personal use if nothing else. And whilst I could bodge something together, having the actual layout templates would save me some time.

IIRC, efforts to update the PDFs have been largely abandoned, considering how much content there is on the forums, how often it changes, and how little agreement there is on what tweaks would be "cannon". Then again, I'm hardly a core member of the community, so defer to the more established members on this.

The current "plan," such as it is, is to have the revisions actually finished and agreed upon before bothering with pdfs. It's this allegedly existent and largely spurious "Book 3" that was totally abandoned.
This is mostly because, as pointed out, homebrew items are adjusted with alarming frequency, and with pdf-editing ability at a premium around here it's better to not have to bug the people who can do that (i.e. you) every time something changes. We've pretty much only agreed upon the exaltation revisions so far, and that something about magic has to change... focusing attention on one section at a time to keep on task does that. Please wait warmly until we have finished, lest you find yourself in a constant cycle of editing a pdf as the bug crawls up our collective butt again and again.
That being said... I don't have access to the templates. Someone around here does, surely.

Weredrago2 kept some book templates that he is kind enough to share. In the meantime please help us feel free to pitch in on things like said community updates. The discussion can get heated but more perspectives help.

Much appreciated for that.
I'll see if I can get some feedback from the group I'm currently a part off. We've been playing a fair bit in person, and are currently on our 4th campaign, and there are a number of tweaks and house rules we've been running with. As an example, one of our member did a re-balance and expansion of the spelljammer system, which I know he posted on /tg/ but I don't know if it ever made it to the forums.
