Entobian: Diminutive Manipulators
It is said that ‘In the wheel, for a race to be trusting instead of fearful they would need to be invincible’. The Entobian truly put this to the test.
The small insectoids of ‘Entobia’ surround themselves with others, forming intricate social webs and strong bonds, ingratiating themselves with everyone they can find.
Physical Characteristics:
Average Height: 0.6-1m
Average Weight: 10-15kg
Languages: Entobian, trade
Common Personality Traits: Passionate, Inginuitive, well-humoured, flexible, loyal.
Common Physical Traits: Bright body hair, thick hair coverage, pale bodies, stripes and patterns.
Example Names: Drytun, Puleqay, Tiibay, Vastroban
Racial Statistics:
Characteristic Bonus: +1 Fellowship or Dexterity
Skill Bonus: +1 Charm and Acrobatics
Power: Midlegs:
You have two natural weapons in your midlegs that both count as 1k1 R, Melee, brawling weapons.
Size: 2
Racial Feats:
Enotbian Matron [Entobian, paragon, Biologically female]:
Your metamorphosis takes the form of becoming the matriarch of a hive, giving you both the physical, and social authority over others. Select two racial feats below. You become a physical blend of the two and gain both feats. Gain Air of Authority.
Coleophite [Enotobian]:
Your metamorphosis takes the form of a beetle-like carapace. Gain 2 AP natural armour of thick chitin. This stacks with other forms of armour.
Eulite [Entobian]:
Your metamorphosis brings a moth-like form allowing you to see excellently in the dark and produce silk of incredible strength. You gain the Darksight trait and may produce 10m of silk a number of times a day equal to your level. These ropes dissipate after 24 hours.
Farfalite [Entobian]:
Your metamorphosis grants you elegant, butterfly-like wings. Gain the Flyer trait.
Moscanite [Entobian]:
Your metamorphosis grants a vicious proboscis and regurgative acid. You gain a natural projectile weapon. [2k1 E, PEN3, Toxic]
Physical Qualities:
Larval Entobians can be likened to vaguely upright carapaced caterpillars with elongated limbs. All Entobians possess six limbs, their midlegs being involved in balance and aiding in attack, movement and object manipulation.
Their ‘hair’ or rather body fur is differently spaced sometimes creating wild ‘natural styles’ and themes. They tend to produce an earthy smell and their coarse hair can irritate mammalian skin, though both of these can be avoided with regular bathing.
Every Entobian eventually undergoes metamorphosis into another form calling back to a time when all would need to fulfill a specific niche to protect the hive. These range from hardened carapaces to aid in warrior roles to winged gatherers.
Entobians live naturally for 30-40 years. Matrons live for 60-80 years.
Playing an Entobian:
Outwardly, Entobians are near psychotically friendly and trusting. They tend towards creating intricate social webs and nets of communication. This gets to the core of many Entobians and the reason they achieved Warp travel in the first place, they are excellent manipulators. Their diminutive stature and furry appearance causes them to seem non-threatening, and as such they can ingratiate themselves and gain protection from those who want to protect ‘them and theirs’.
It should be worrying that so many Entobians are worshipers of Malal. Keep your enemies close…
Entobian Heroes:
Jangalathea routinely thanks her friends for being there to protect their tiny, defenceless form from violent ruffians (Just don’t let them know she can grow to massive sizes and bring the wrath of dead gods on real foes).
Visoth loves his pets! He’s getting a full collection, slowly but surely. His human is a pureblood from some hive called Roy-altie, and recently he’s made the rare (and by no means easy) acquisition of an Ork Werewolf. He is very proud of his collection.
Fromayo hates the patronising glances he gets from the taller races (almost all of them), the stronger races (a good number of them), the ‘better’ races (None of them). He will be better, he will show them all he’s better.
