Alignment: The Greater Good (Space Communism Time)
“The needs of the many far outweigh the needs of the few.” -Kor’Spoc, Air Caste officer.
The Greater Good Is the set of ideals proselytized by the tau. It would not be an exaggeration to say it is the religion of the young race. Each member of the Tau community has their place in the whole. When you are Tau, you are a cog in the service of the Greater Good. However, Tau are not the only adherents of these ideals. Though it is most prevalent in their society, other groups draw on these ideas across the great wheel, empowered by the desire to share not only their struggles, but their victories as well.
The Revolushun
Begun on the space-fortress Temple Prime, The Revolushun is what happens when a bunch of goblins decide that they’re tired of being pushed around.
Calling for emancipation and freedom from the oppressors, a chosen of the Greater Good arose: Da Red Gobbo. Now, he leads his revolushunary komittee in a protracted war against the Tau metal caste, and all who stamp down the common folk.
Countless oppressed goblin, halfling, and other smaller races have taken up the call “Viva la Revolushun!”. It isn’t hard to find a gnome or svirfneblin passing out pamphlets on the streets of Sigil, calling for an end to “Oppreshun”.
The Tau Empire:
The most obvious proponents of The Greater Good, and the reason many both revere and fear it. The Tau’s integration, and some would say brainwashing, of their conquered peoples has led to mixed thoughts on The Greater Good. Only one thing is for certain, it works for them. Their caste system is what they see as an ideal expression of the Greater Good, even if it doesn’t always follow it to the letter.
