Gnolls
Gnolls are known across the Wheel as malicious mercenaries and cutthroat corsairs. They were created by a Daemon Prince in the service of Chaos, explaining why violence, cruelty, and nastiness seem to be hardwired into their nature. There are some who move past their monstrous ways, but most are content to be looters and pirates for life. Gnoll tribes are matriarchal by default, but the alpha can be of any gender if they are significantly ruthless and strong. The public image of Gnolls is less than ideal, and never showering doesn't help.

Size: 4
Physical Qualities
Gnolls are tall humanoids with hyenoid features, bearing a similarity to Théah's native wildlife that hasn't gone unnoticed. They have incredibly robust biological systems, allowing them to consume nearly anything and gain sustenance from it. This is theorized to be a partly magical process, but nobody has had the nerve to cut a Gnoll open and find out. They are naturally adapted towards scavenging, and can track prey over long distances with their refined sense of smell.
Playing a Gnoll
Gnolls aren't particularly friendly or civilized. When they aren't being destructive for the sake of destroying, they're a mighty practical lot. They are extremely aggressive and bestial by nature, only becoming recognized as a space-faring race due to complaints of ships going missing in Gnoll occupied systems. Gnolls that become attached to adventuring parties will start seeing the group as their new tribe, either attempting to become the alpha through displays of force or acting sycophantically submissive towards who he identifies as the strongest. Despite their many flaws, Gnolls are incredibly loyal to those they see as family, and absolutely vicious towards those who would threaten them.
Gnoll Heroes
Brutus is a feared and respected Gnoll corsair, able to cut through swathes of Orks with a flick of his wicked sword. Little do his fellow tribesmen know, Brutus’ success is not completely his alone. His sword is the true source of his powers, a daemonic weapon with a mind of it’s own. They accomplish many things together, and his sword is the only warrior that Brutus would ever trust to have his back in combat.
Abaja was the head shaman of her tribe, taking the lives of many mighty beasts and sacrificing them to Luna. Her prayers were answered when a rival tribe attacked, becoming exalted as one of the moon goddess' chosen and tearing the invaders apart. She now travels around the Great Wheel, as part of her personal spirit quest to become closer to the moon she owes for her salvation.
Before his unfortunate death, Banagi was a Gnoll warrior-prince, with ambitious plans for uniting the tribes of his planet under a single flag. He was assassinated by his treacherous vizier, who sought to rule over the new united tribe himself. Furious over his betrayal, Banagi rose from his shallow grave to declare war on the corrupt empire he helped establish. You can stab him. You can hack him to pieces. You can even set him on fire. No matter what you do, you can never slow him down for long.
Racial Feats
Butcher’s Lure [Gnoll]
Some Gnolls are good imitators, either as a talent from birth or a skill acquired from years of being smartasses to their superiors. You can cast the spell Ghost Sound, using your Level + Intelligence in place of the normal Focus Power test.
Bone Crusher [Gnoll]
Gnolls can crush bones well enough with their teeth, but they can be just as brutal with a good mace or hand weapon. Any melee weapon you wield that deals I-type damage gains Tearing.
Blood Magic [Gnoll]
Gnoll shamans, as the disowned scions of Khorne, can channel arcane power through the blood of their foes. As a half action, you can convert a corpse into a temporary resource point for spellcasting or a raise to add to a focus power test. For every 2 Size converted, you gain 1 temporary resource point or raise, to a maximum of your level. Temporary resource points or raises not used are lost at the end of the scene.
Cursorial Hunter [Gnoll]
You are an animal adapted to running down prey. Add your Dexterity once more to your Speed when performing a Run action. As well, you're not wasteful; you can consume corpses to recover fatigue. For every 3 Sizes worth of biomass consumed, you regain 1 Fatigue.
Gnoll Warmaster [Gnoll, Paragon]
Gnolls don't hunt alone. They hunt in howling, snarling, bloodthirsty packs. If you didn't already have it, you gain the Frenzy feat. When you are in a Frenzy, you can grant Frenzy to a number of allies equal to your Excellence.
