Hi everyone. I'm relatively new to the W40k universe, but as a science fiction fan I saw something on this universe. You know, science fiction as a mean to set up a phylosophical/moral dilemma.
Well, at first I though about the Emperor as a paladin. He led mankind into war to recover a bunch of sieged worlds, giving hope to billions of men. Forging a new era of prosperity, free of religion. The Empire itself its like a reminder of his personality. Mankind is determined to survive, whatever it takes. Honor, loyalty, resolution, sacrifice... very paladin-esque.
HOWEVER, a weird idea just popped up into my mind. Isn't the Empire just a grotesque satire about how history/cristianism manipulated and corrupted Jesuscrist's message?
Forgive my heressy, for He is our shield and protector.

Pallid incompetence, chained to the most grandiose of toilets.

The Emprah's a complicated guy that just wants to see Humanity succeed, but things keep messing that up.
And yes, he does have a magnificent golden toilet. Ironically, he hasn't gotten shit done ever since he started sitting on it.

I think you're overthinking it and GW (at the time) probably wanted the most grandiose concept for "leader of humanity" they can think of.

The pestilence of heresy is strong here. You shall be purged. Does anyone have the Inquisition number?
Well, I don't think I'm overthinking it. 12 primarks/apostles and betrayed by one of them. On top of that you can see some masonic crosses on his armour on many of his depictions.

If you insist, the Emprah probably multi-classed like a motherfucker.

Although the idea of multiclassing is interesting. I would say it was something like this:

Uuuhhhh To put it simply the emperor is infact Saint George, and he is infact Kenshiro which is epically told in Fist of the Northstar complete with technobarbarians but before the thunder warriors... He is every badass who has gone throughout earth in it's darkest times and appeared in any of the over muscled warrior cameo's that he has ever appeared as.
The emprah! bless be his station, title, name, rank and relevancy to all of mankind. IS the man. He IS what mankind should be similar but not the same for that position is already taken.
The emperor is mysterious and yet "-blunt-" as Malkador put it in the book the sigilite. He graces the universe with what he believes that humanity and humanity alone can grace the galaxy with ... Perfect F***ing Pecs.
