Sheogorath, God of Un-Logic - Grey Council
Sheogorath, otherwise known as the Mad Hatter, is a god who is both extremely powerful and astonishingly impotent. Inside his realm, which he is unable to physically leave, it is always Tuesday. Entropy flows strangely there, and things break and reform in ways that leave him helpless, while seeming illogical to visitors. Nevertheless, he also possesses a keen, albeit disjointed, mind, and one of his favourite pastimes is psychological therapy. However, his is not therapy which cures normal mental illnesses. It is therapy for the grave affliction of sanity.
While Sheogorath his best known name, the Mad-God has more epithets, titles and alternate names than any other god - fitting for one who can't keep his identity straight from day to day. These include the Walrus, the Eggman (both of these being derived from the appearances of his avatars), the God who Laughs and the Joker. Worship of Sheogorath is surprisingly common among catfolk, among whom he is known as the Drugged Cat.
Sheogorath has a number of holy books, but the best well known one is a tome by the name of "The King in Yellow", the script for a play which, upon reading it, burns the mark of Sheogorath into the hapless reader's mind, causing an obsession with the sign.
Common Followers of Sheogorath
Devotion Ladder
NOTE: Sheogorath, being the god of madness and illogical behaviour, has a devotion ladder which is mutable. It can be argued that no single devotion ladder is actually fitting, with each individual worshipper of Sheogorath having his or her own devotion ladder. This is one alignment where "if you don't like it, change it" can be readily applied by the player.

Common Followers of Sheogorath
The Mentally Ill
Sheogorath is a natural patron of the mentally ill. As they already have the slightly illogical viewpoint he holds, they gravitate towards his worship, like a stone gravitates towards the ground, or like ducks swim together. While it is extremely rare that one of them will achieve anything of any great worth, the occasional genius who worships Sheogorath does come to light - after all, there is a fine line between genius and madness.
Clowns
Circus performers tend to be another group who are closer to Sheogorath's heart than others. They already have the knack of ignoring sensible things like "risk of death". Clowns, with their even less sensible narratives behind their acts, tend to slip naturally into the actual worship of Sheogorath. If they tend to be a little less sane as a result, well, it just helps with their acts.
