Sword School - Shrinking Violet
Some are unsuited for the rage of war. Not cut out for combat, they battle their own thoughts on the field of battle as much as any enemy: Are you good enough to fight? Can you endure long enough? Can you bring yourself to hurt another? What if you don't know how to win? The truest enemy is our own doubt and an adept of the Shrinking Violet learns to harness their own failings, assuage their companions' worries and realize their opponents' flaws.
Persuasion is the key skill for the Shrinking Violet; Persuading yourself to have hope when it seems hopeless. Adepts of the school do not waste time on unearned extravagance: Ordinary weapons are more than enough and don't draw unnecessary attention. No one can truly train another to be a Shrinking Violet; it is said that in order to spar and improve you must face the one that is already the master of the unique style: Yourself.
Level 1: Apprentice
-Weapon (Ordinary): Use Ordinary weapons with your Martial Maneuvers.
-Action (Aid Another): Use Aid Another actions in martial maneuvers. If you use this to aid another character's attack, any attack-related benefits from the special attack apply to the aided attack.
Level 2: Initiate
(-2)Sophie's Choice: You need to have at least two allies adjacent to you to make this attack.
(2)Nothing Gold Can Stay: The target of this attack must end their next turn further away from you than they started.
Level 3: Journeyman
(-1)Skill (Persuasion): As part of this attack, make an Persuasion test against the Static Defense of the target. If it fails, the attack fails.
(3)Rose Thorn: All characters adjacent to you take 1 wound for every character adjacent to you beyond the first, to a maximum of your Martial Adept level.
Level 4: Master
-Mastery (Ambrosia): When you Aid Another in combat, you may spend 1 Resolve to heal yourself and the character aided by one Hit Point.
(3*)Love Can Bloom: Anyone hit by your attack loses a point of resolve for each time this advantage is taken.
Level 5: Grandmaster
(3)Tall Poppy: The target hit by this attack may not use Special Attacks, Trick Shots or Spell Combos until the end of your next turn.
