There is a certain romance in the idea of the masked hero, the anonymous paladin who comes out of nowhere to smite the wicked with a boot to the face. The sudden turn of fate, the immediate chastisement that rallies the souls of those who crave justice. All across the Wheel, there are those who idolize this romantic Justice and the faceless Hero who can get away with delivering such cheesy speeches ripped straight from the morning holovid dramas... and even more embarrassing is that for so many, it works.
The key skill of Riding Justice is Performer, for the core of this ideal Hero is an actor who devours scenery and pork product with equal abandon. As for weapons, it is believed that unarmed attacks are most just, for the fist that lays the villain low can be opened into a hand to redeem him. It is said that the style originated from a propaganda cartoon meant to teach younglings the virtues of the Blessed Order and turn them away from Chaos.
Level 1: Apprentice
- Weapon (Brawl): Use Unarmed attacks with your martial maneuvers.
- Action (Called Shot): Use Called Shot actions in martial maneuvers.
Level 2: Initiate
(-2) Finishing Attack: This attack can only be used on targets that are either suffering from Critical Damage or have no Hit Points remaining.
(1) Diving Kick: Make a Jump test as part of this attack, doubling the distance traveled. If you do not become adjacent to the target after jumping, the attack fails. Apply this only to Unarmed attacks.
Level 3: Journeyman
(-1) Skill (Performer): As a part of this attack, make a Performer test against the target's Static Defense. If it fails, the attack fails.
(2/3) Magnum Break: This attack gains the Momentum property. For three points, the target takes fall damage as if they fell a distance equal to the amount they were moved by the attack, taking no more wounds than your Martial Level. The target can make an Acrobatics test to reduce the fall as normal.
Level 4: Master
- Mastery (Virtuous Triumph): Gain a disposable Hero Point whenever you deal a finishing blow with a Special Attack that has at least one advantage from this Sword School. It cannot be burned, is always considered to be used first, and is retained between sessions. You can only have one extra Hero Point from this effect at a time and it disappears once used.
(4) Spear of Justice: This attack gains the Sanctified (Blessed Order) special quality. If the target would be affected by the extra damage caused by this special quality, they must make a Constitution Test (TN 20) or become Stunned for one round.
Level 5: Grandmaster
(2) Cascading Radiance: Targets that die from this attack explode with a blast radius of three times their level. The explosion uses twice the result of this attack's damage roll and does not affect you or your allies. Apply this only to an attack modified by Last Resort.
