Pushing is the simplest motion of all. It requires no grace, no finesse, and no thought to perform. The beauty is, people who do invest technique into pushing gain so much more. Sapphire Splash is a school of technique popular with contact sport players, especially those now allowed or able to use their arms or legs to fight with. It was named by athletes of an aquatic pedestrian sport. This school teaches them to utilize their core in ways they never thought possible, bull rushing and knocking down targets. It made its way into battlefields because if you've paid attention, team sports are a proxy for war. The simplicity of the school makes it popular with athletes and monks.
The skill in Sapphire Splash is Athletics. These sports might be showy, but fundamentals are more important than flashy moves.
Level 1: Apprentice
Weapon (Brawl): Use Unarmed attacks with your martial maneuvers.
Action (Bull Rush): Use Bull Rush actions in martial maneuvers. Advantages to attacks and attack rolls instead apply to the opposed strength roll of the bull rush.
Level 2: Initiate
(-2) Hip Drop: This attack only uses unarmed damage. Brawling weapons and natural weapons such as a vampire's bite are disallowed.
(1) Windup: The attacker may move up to their full speed as part of this attack.
Level 3: Journeyman
(-1) Skill (Athletics): As part of this attack, make an Athletics check against the static defense of the target. If it fails, the attack fails.
(4) Sapphire Splash: If this attack hits an arm or leg, the target suffers the effects of dismemberment for the next round (though they do keep the limb. Usually.).
Level 4: Master
Mastery (Anchoring Stance): Gain a raise to resist effects that forcibly move you or knock you down.
(3) Terra Firma: The attacker is in no danger of being knocked down until the beginning of their next turn.
Level 5: Grandmaster
(4) Shaky Legs: If this attack hits, the target must pass a TN 20 constitution test or fall prone after the attack's conclusion.
