Ennwai; a planet infamous for the deathly fog shrouding the surface of the planet. cities kept afloat by the exporting of rare ores mined from the toxic planet by brave souls with no sense of self preservation. Today is a day largely like any other here; shuttles lowering down towards the planet's surface, carrying various scientists, mining crews, and mercenaries charged with protecting the other two groups from the mutated wildlife that prowls the planet; the only things not reduced to a rotting corpse by the fog. One of those shuttles though, is a little different. Not for its design, its a standard passenger shuttle, with a few scientific instruments installed by the owner; a Tau archeologist by the name of "Dr. Spaiss" who's hired this shuttle's crew for a particular job regarding the enigmatic ruins down on the surface. No, its different, because said crew consists of a band of exalts, brought together by separate promise of pay, either as private contractors, or on order of their respective organizations putting them to work in exchange for the hefty sum provided to them. The mission, is simple: Retrieve a strange artifact (the historical kind, not the magical kind...probably) that had been found by a survey crew a few weeks ago. One that was lost before it could be brought back to the sky-cities thanks to an unidentified assailant. They'll be landing just outside the city ruins, and have a map pointing to where the survey team was attacked, but it'll be a little while before they land; the perfect chance for this band of strangers to prepare themselves, or perhaps get to know each-other...

It's way too damn early for this.
Or so Iris decides as she counts out bullets, preparing several magazines for the rifle she was issued last week as she was told to before landfall. No, it can't possibly be that she shouldn't have been screwing around with old holovid games, that's stupid. Regardless, she rubs at the smudge under her eye and continues, looking up to glare around at the rest of the screwups gathered in the cabin.
Damn good thing I'm here, or this would never work...

*BANG*
"Come on, you piece of- MOVE!"
Standing next to a large armored suit, with Combi-Toll in hand, is an old human man wearing old worn down clothes swearing at the inanimate suit. After sever moments of fidgeting with his tools and mumbling to himself, a loud thunk emanates from the suit.
"A-ha! Finally. 'Bout time too, you little..."
The visibly irritated old man climbs into his suit through the back port and it close with a sealed hiss. Shortly after, the suits eyes flicker on and begins testing its movements.
After a few arm swings and leg lifting, the massive suit picks up the Twin-Linked bolter and starts inspecting it.

This ought to be a joke
Although far from the first time that Tohyo had no clue whatsoever what had his superior planned, the fact that he had been sent on an expedition full of exalts was beyond #*%@!&% mental as far as risks were concerned. Up until that day the scrawny man had been tremendously comfortable going down to the diseased planet to carry out the usual missions that were needed of him, but that was because he had always had the luxury of being escorted by decent mercenaries and always took the necessary precaution to avoid any dangerous situation.
But right now he's stuck on a shuttle with "people" known to get high on danger, whatever has the good doctor planned for this expedition promises to at least give a much more interesting conversation than the last one they had at the conference. Now, this could be the last moment tohyo gets the chance to take a look at the faces of his unusual companions. There's the world's friendliest cyclops, the record for most violent inorganic wardrobe, a fidgety tiefling that may be emanating dark magical energy and a half dwarf that could probably tear him in half with her bare hands. Wonderful
Tohyo just remained sit, smiled politely and spoke out loud while raising one arm
"Good day everyone! My name is Tohyo Utsuno, lets have a comfortable and safe expedition, I'll be in your care."

The reindeer-like Tiefling can barely keep a panic-stricken smile from the circumstances she finds herself in. First she has been given the wrong gear for her mission apart from a bionic respiratory system that she has paid from her own pocket, which has forced her to stow away in a stuffy cargo ship, then the last of her funds has disappeared from what is likely to be a Halfling pickpocket. She can't help but sigh and remind herself that things could be worse. A fetch quest seems relatively harmless especially with the help of people who look more powerful than her.
She greets her imposing acquaintances with a meek wave of her hand. Be nice, being unnecessarily confrontational leads to nowhere. "H-Hi, you can call me Noelle Holiday, from the Crystal Sphere of Halkeginia. I'm...here to help."
Something feels weird when she refers to herself with the name of her childhood doll, but it's the price she has to pay for discretion. It certainly beats being on a full name basis with uppity nobles and their enchantment spells.

*vrrr*
The hulking suit turns in the direction of the timid Tiefling, halting his inspection of his weapon. He stares for a moment before finally speaking
*bzt*"You sure you on the right transport, missy? You seem a little... flustered."*bzt*
Not waiting for an answer, he addresses Tohyo.
*bzt*"If its a safe and comfortable expedition you want, you ain't going to get it here."*bzt* *bzt*"In case you need reminding, the local wildlife can be a bit..."*bzt*
He loudly cocks a round into the bolters chamber
*bzt*"...Aggressive."*bzt*

If only mister Von knew that what Tohyo feared more than the fauna of Enwai was currently in the same room.
"Its a pleasure to meet you, miss Holiday, I'm looking forward to working with you and showing us what you are capable of. Also a pleasure to meet you, sir Braun, know that my optimism is due to the certainty that you'll help precisely with that wildlife threat by reducing the concentration of poison in the air by filling it with lead instead. Because my, that looks like enough firepower to rival an entire platoon."

“All in workin’ order!”
The diminutive, flaxen haired girl confirms to herself as she finishes her pre-landing preparations. Her hammer is topped up, her gear all fine and fastened, and her tools secured. Also, a snack or two stowed away. Lastly, she handily hoists and lowers her helmet over and onto her head, clicking it into place to seal her suit.
“Hoy, hoy,” she exclaims, pivoting on her boot heel and slinging her hefty weapon over her shoulder. “Mora Rudumbor, ready for work! Nice to meet everyone.”

A whirring noise, as the shuttle finally lands on the edge of the city ruins, supposedly one that went by the name "ellay" if the greybeards are to be believed. They're the only ones who care about places like this anyways, ores are easier to mine in areas that aren't filled with countless run-down buildings that have equal odds of being a monster nest as they do just collapsing on you. The pilot looks back to our motley crew, his own gas mask fixed firmly to his face
"you're all ready right? Remember, you're heading towards sector G in the northwest quadrant of the city, at the abandoned waterpark. Stay safe, and come back alive alright?"
with that, the pilot flips a few switches, and the inner airlock door opens, waiting for everyone to file in.

"Iris Bronte." Her expression turns a bit more sour as she loads one of the magazines into her rifle, three more disappearing into various pockets in what's now very apparent as a school uniform, rather than a military one. "Yes, the one that blew out a computer lab last month. No, I don't appreciate being packed with 'peers' who look so likely to get me killed." She pauses, ticking off some checklist on her fingers, then pulls a stubby revolver out of a holster on her thigh, flicking the cylinder open to check that as well. "Got high hopes for grandad in that suit, though~" Diminutive as she is ( At least I'm not the shortest here, with a smug look at Mora), she's first to her feet on the landing, a golden film rippling over her body as she steps outside for a look around. Outsider means I have Dark Sight and don't need to breathe. AP 3 on all locations due to Wholeness of Body. I have not spread my AT Field yet.

Mora files out after, examining her young compatriot with a quizzical look in her eyes, obscured only lightly behind her helmet’s orange visors. While an exalt herself, Mora isn’t exactly versed in the esoteric principles behind such displays as this. As well, she’s a bit worried about how this little lass is going to breathe without any sort of mask.
“Oh, what a fancy trick that was just now. Though, are ye really goin’ to be fine out here like this? Ye didn’t forget yer mask onboard, did ye? Wouldn’t be too late to grab it.”
Iris’ claims of destroying a computer lab strike Mora just the same: “Can’t say I’ve heard of that, but ye strike me like a fine lass, so I’m sure it wasn’t nothin’ so bad. Nothin’ deservin’ ye to be down here, at the very least.”

"Yes, I am." Noelle tries to reply but is seemingly ignored. She remains quiet until the shuttle lands, contemplating what she can salvage for her kingdom. A waterpark doesn't sound like a place of any hidden treasur and bringing back monsters will be an issue of preservation. Then again she is on a job. Perhaps the pay can be used to buy something worthwhile.
The Tiefling nods at the pilot's inquiry before standing up and stretching for a bit. Mora's statement reminds her to prop up the collar of her coat to look like she's ready...and fails. The collar's too narrow for that. Instead she says "My lungs are augmented?" with an awkward grin.
The man in the imposing battlesuit eases her nerves somewhat. Having a pillar to lean on is a welcome change of pace. Noelle follows his instructions and walks a few meters behind him, tugging on the straps of her backpack.

"'Don't get too cocky, Iris.'" She punctuates the rather unflattering mimicry with a roll of her eye and spits to one side, adjusting the strap of her rifle. "At least I'm not the one we need to worry about keeling over in the middle of a firefight..."
She does, however, deign to give Mora something vaguely resembling a proper explanation as she watches the tiefling descend, wiping at her eye again: "They told me if I wanted to practice that kind of magic I'd better keep it down here. One drop a week since and I've never had any problems with gear... kinduva good thing, since they only seem to have masks that fit you two-eyed freaks, so I don't have to deal with that."
