Personal Shields
Sometimes, Armor just doesn't help you. A sad but simple fact, you can't bring your darksteel power armor with you everywhere you go, other people may take exception to you being always armored head to toe like a war is about to happen. It is with this though that the invention of Personal Shields came to be. A Personal Shield is a incredibly Miniaturized Shield Generator based upon Spelljammer designs, with a small portable battery to power it the Personal Shield is a valuable tool to have when traveling the wheel.
When you take damage while you have a shield active, damage is first removed from shield strength before Armor and Resilience. At the beginning of your turn, your shield regenerates strength equal to its Regeneration. Regeneration is reduced by E damage taken that round, and failing a Test against the Shocking property automatically reduces your shield's strength to 0. A Shield reduced to 0 strength has lost its charge and will recharge at thee end of the scene or if recharged by some other means.

Standard Shields are, well Standard. They're the baseline that other shields are measured by. They usually form a visible layer around the wearer.
Regenerative Shields recover their shield strength very quickly, and so against enemies without much punch to their weapons, they can simply hold out forever.
Resilient Shields combine some aspect of Covariant and Regenerative Shields. While their Capacity is only equal to Standard shields and their regenerating speed is that of Covariant shields, they cannot be disrupted. This shield's regeneration is not reduced by E damage and is not reduced to 0 when failing against the Shocking Property.
Covariant Shields have a larger overall capacity for damage, but their regeneration is much slower than standard shields. They excel at protecting a wearer against burst damage and foes armed with extremely disruptive weapons.
Multiphasic Shields are a recent development in shield technology. They're a number of layered field generators that create a number of weak overlapping fields. Depending on the Mark of shield generator, there are between two and seven layers. Each one must be attacked and brought down one at a time. Each Layer must be charged with an individual battery. But each battery for a Multiphasic Shield is Common rarity regardless of model.
