Mephidross: An unholy steel seemingly composed entirely of rust. The metal seems to quickly corrode nearly anything it comes into contact with short of darksteel, which only becomes a carrier of the accursed substance (until the end of the scene if it matters). Understandably it’s a favorite among the followers of Mallal for it's all-destroying nature, though it often sees use by the elites in underground groups who are used to sub-standard equipment. Weapons and armor made of the material, or perhaps infected with it if some are to be believed, are in a constant state of degradation that never seems to just destroy it already, and typically have multiple jagged edges. The first samples of the material was introduced to the wheel by the warforged of all people, in particular a rather unlucky group of merchants who happened across a deposit of the stuff, dying shortly thereafter but not before managing to send out a distress signal.
Melee weapon: The weapon is treated as if it were poor quality, struck armor’s AP is reduced by 2 after damage is applied until repaired.
Ranged weapon: The weapon is treated as if it were poor quality, and it gains the toxic and sapping properties.
Special ammunition: -1k0 to this weapon’s damage, struck armor’s AP is reduced by 2 after damage is applied until repaired.
Armor: The armor is treated as if it were poor quality. Melee weapons that strike the armor become poor quality until repaired. If they were already poor quality, their damage is reduced by -1k0
Bionic arm (why would you?): The bionic is treated as if it were poor quality. Grappled targets suffer a check to all tests, and unarmed attacks deal R damage and gain the toxic quality from the rusty edges.
Bionic Locomotion (Again, why?): The bionic is treated as if it were poor quality. You are immune to the snare property, as the bindings simply wither away.
Bionic Heart (are you insane?): Suffer a -1k1 penalty to all tests you make unless you were already immune to poison. You halve damage from weapons with the toxic property and the property itself heals you if you pass the test. Melee weapons and ammunition coated in your blood gain the toxic property.
Promethean asset: You can cast rot as a spell like ability using Generation+Inteligence in place of the normal focus power test. You also treat poor quality equipment you use as if it was normal quality.
Shimmer: a haphazardly formed material made from the scraps of other artifacts in a process originally devised by the orks. While the alloy confers no additional benefits beyond the supernatural durability and other generic boons of all artifacts, the ease of making it makes it easier to obtain than other artifacts. Items made of shimmer can be obtained with acquisition tests or dots in inheritance, but their rarity is increased by three levels. A note to the more creative types out there; effects that would change one material to another fail to function on artifacts made from shimmer. Its very nature as a mixture of cuttings from other materials just results in such effects making it into mixture of a DIFFERENT set of materials, the end result being that nothing but maybe color changing.
Promethean asset: the composition of your body resonates with other artifacts. Double the artifact material effects of any item on your person. (this includes integrated weapons and bionics)
