Update and revision to a prior wording for Muscle Wizardry. Originally, Muscle wizardry just ignored temporary abilities, then temporary spells too, and then just temporary spells. After careful consideration and discussion with W2 and others, I reverted it back to ignoring temporary boosts from both spells and abilities again. The system tends to be much more generous with cheap, long lasting or early boosts to physical characteristics (Potence, Warform, etc) compared to mental and social, perhaps in part since those can't be used for casting. So being able to use your boosted physical characteristics is often not in fact the same as being able to use your boosted social or mental characteristics, even with other things being the same. Other temporary boosts still apply and permanent boosts do too.
Let me know if you think it should be changed back again.

Does muscle wizardry also replace the characteristic for the sake of the spells effect or just for the focus power test? An example being energy grasp

It specifically says Focus Power test, so it does nothing else.

So I won't lie, I can't help but feel that this class is TOO splashable onto any build for the sake of ez magic without real commitment. Personally I would limit each instance of muscle wizardry to a specific spell school rather than the very broad 'any school of pow/fin/res' because the current one just enables lots of one-level dips for casual evocation spam on martials that want an aoe but still want to dump social. I won't pretend they still wouldn't be able to do that with my proposition but it would still make it far less 'free'. Of course I will admit that, in my opinion, substitution casting has always been extremely powerful for enabling mixed setups that can blow other methods of gishery out of the water, negating the main drawback of such builds.

On the other hand, depending on your build, you can't splash into this at Level 1. Some players might avoid certain levels because they have absolutely no benefit from the feats inside, like Feed the Meat with 1 Con. Sure you could go "I'll just raise Con anyway" but that XP might be better spent later on. If one wants a more build-neutral dip, they're gonna have to either start with Mystic, or find some other ways of getting Strong Minded. Plus, there's the magic school and sword school rank requirement.
