Gun Kata - Recoil Reaper

With its peculiar methodology and extremely odd focus, Recoil Reaper is a poorly-understood and little-used Kata. Recoil Reaper is for the man who wants to look his opponents in the eyes when he shoots them. It is for the person who thinks "why shouldn't I use my gun to stab someone?" It is for the person who thinks that strapping a knife to a gun then charging someone with it is a good idea.
The key skill of Recoil Reaper is Weaponry, the ability to use melee attachments effectively. It is thought that the first user of Recoil Reaper was a warrior who kept running into situations where he was so outnumbered that he had to use his gun as a bludgeoning weapon, then turned it into his preferred style of combat.
Level 1: Apprentice | ||

Level 2: Initiate | ||
Hot Blood | -2 | This attack may only be made if you made a melee attack or had a melee attack made against you since the beginning of last round. |
Reaper Rounds | 2 | This Trick Shot deals +1k0 damage at short range or closer and an additional +0k1 damage at point blank range or closer. |
Level 3: Journeyman | ||
XCOM Tactics | - | You may use Basic (ranged) weapons in melee combat. |
Skill (Weaponry) | -1 | At part of this Trick Shot, make a Weaponry test against the Static Defense of your target. If you fail the test, the Trick Shot fails. |
Level 4: Master | ||
Close Quarters | -2 | You may only use this Trick Shot if you are in melee combat. |
Doubled-Up Danger | 2 | As part of this Trick Shot, make a melee attack against a target within melee range. This attack cannot be a Martial Maneuver or benefit from optional feats such as Power Attack. |
Level 5: Grandmaster | ||
Blowback Chainsaw | 2* | This Trick Shot may only be made with a weapon that has a melee attachment. If this Trick Shot hits, make a number of standard melee attacks equal to the number of rounds you fired or the number of times you take this advantage (whichever is lower) plus one to a target in melee range using a melee attachment on the weapon used to make the Trick Shot. These may not be Martial Maneuvers and may not benefit from optional feats such as Power Attack. |
