Welcome, one and all. This is what I'm tentatively calling The Spitball Thread.
What is this?
This is a thread where you can post ideas you have for dtd that you can't figure out what to do with, how to expand upon, how to bring to life, and so on. This can be fluff, mechanics, adversary statlines, or even just a thing to say "what should I play to be/do X?" I try to make homebrew on a "see a need, fill a need" mentality like Nintendo makes games (except most of my 150+ artifacts, but let's ignore that). That leaves a lot of ideas floating around in my head. Want to incorporate elements of an rpg you like but doesn't have much representation here? Go for it.
Other people will hopefully provide suggestions to help you realize your idea. And if your idea is already taken care of, I ask others to politely point them in the right direction. I intend this to be a place to collaborate and work out kinks of ideas before making a dedicated post or thread. This isn't a thread to ask "please make X thing happen." It's a place to ask "how can I make X thing happen?"
Dtd's content is... expansive, to say the least. A lot of ideas can be covered by existing material refluffed one way or another. But that's hardly a reason to keep your questions and ideas to yourself. This can be the dumbest stuff, too. I'm posting ideas in here that you'll probably roll your eyes at. Shit, if you want to convert DtD into an OSR like Stars Without Number out of a pure desire to play it that way I say go for it. I can't help you, but go for it.
My (dumb as hell) ideas:
The Eldarin Path of Explosions - Yes, the stupid and dead meme. All I have for it is a name.
A codification of spelljammer sizes like the vehicles have.
A fluff/adversary thread about a Human-centric organization in the Imperium that incorporates elements of ONI, the Affinities in Civilization: Beyond Earth, and (maybe) Cerberus without being out-and-out human supremacists (most of the time). I have the inspirations and general idea of what they'd do, but can't figure a way to fit their origin or place in the Imperium without going full Inquisition. Which I don't want since they're FBI/CIA and I want Men in Black/DARPA.
A "lawful neutral" alignment like my old Nation alignment but not-stupid. For without the law we are nothing, all that jazz.
An Exalt kryptonite artifact material that (most) players can still consider worth taking. I hear warpstone was originally this way, but that has changed. Not asking what each artifact would do, but rather what the central idea would be for it.

Time to dump my lower-priority concepts:
Sword School inspired by Hozoin Inshun Cavalry, Full Defense Theme: Prepardness, mastery of stances Mastery: Oboro Urazuki — While performing a Full Defense action, you may spend a reaction to take any Half Action. These actions cannot be martial maneuvers of their own and using this ability restricts your next turn into a single Half Action.
I'm saying martial maneuvers because non-attacking special attacks are a thing.
Starbound reference: "Greenfinger" Dryad Racial Class Before the major release that scrambled the lore, Greenfinger was a notable character in the game's background lore. A genius scientist of sorts who worked with other notable characters mentioned like Thornwing and Big Ape. After the 1.0 update the name Greenfinger now refers to a class of Floran wisemen who gift technology to their primitive bretheren. Anyway, they're still pretty much the scientist-doctor-teacher hybrid as before. Treestrider is a feat requirement before entering the class and it obviously gets Botanopathy. That's as far as my idea go. Maybe being able to improve the performance of other dryads?
Survivalist class track Theme: Solo operability Another mix-feats class and the Novice's tougher counterpart. Kinda like the Wanderer but trades free school/magic ranks for more utility. Like that feat from Chiurgeon that makes one immune to disease. They basically do everything themselves, perfect for clandestine solo missions in enemy territory.
Trickster class track Sneaky social class. +1 to Deceive as class completion bonus, may have a focus on throwing weapons via ricochet and maximizing secondary effects. Has Just As Planned and Hidden Objects.
Dastardly Whiplash Theme: Cartoonish villainy and cowardice No work on this at all aside from the name. Couldn't decide if it was a Sword School, a Gun Kata, or a Toon exaltation class. If it was either of the former, the school action would be Withdraw.
EDIT: Survivalist is real
Unnamed Ace Combat-themed Gun Kata Evasive Maneuvers, Pilot Theme: Barnstorming and dogfighting maneuvers No further plans, I merely think that Ace Combat needs more love.
List of names I could use for Gun Kata/Advantages/Restrictions/Passives - Solo Wing/Pixie - Mobius Strike - Round Table Demon - Three Strikes - Graceful Liberation - Unknown Skies - Dark Blue

Part of me wants to make a magic school based all around "field effects" but I know someone is already doing space magic and I don't want to interfere with them. Might do it anyways depending on what that school actually does when it comes out. I'd call it geomancy because "terrain and location" but I don't want it to get confused for geokinesis.

The person "working on space magic" hasn't done anything with it since telling me to reserve it to the extent I don't remember who it was anymore. Or at least he hasn't gotten back to me.
"Planartheurgy" is a better name. What stuff would it have in it?

How would people feel about me attempting to make an exaltation based around being born with a special eye (unsure about the fluff)
Think sharingan, also maybe Sans with his glowing blue eye. Kurta scarlet eyes, shinigami eyes, Geass, That guy from Yu Yu Hakusho.
Maybe there's a later power where you wear an eyepatch to seal your strength and removing it activated a sort of super Mode.
Maybe you pick an eye to start (like radiant or spawn or dragonblooded) and there's an asset to have two.
I think its a fun niche "inborn power" that is as far as I can tell missing

So, chunbiyo: the exalt? I'm just taking the piss, btw. Don't take this as me legitimately calling out the idea. I personally think it could be a cool idea, I just couldn't help myself.

...please take the care to realize there's a more respectful path than just the garbage you've seen in anime over the last decade.
The eye is practically a staple symbol in folklore. It's both protective and malevolent. The gaze of the envious is said to deliver curses and misfortune, but at the same time woven god's eyes or the Eye of Wdjat protect the person or structure donning it from the same. It's not uncommon to see people in Asian rainforests wearing prominent eye-like decorations on the backs of their heads either, for warding off tigers.
The "third eye" or ajna chakra is connected to communication, as well as to the "mystery" of the pineal gland beneath it. Eyes are thus associated with psychic power as well. In Vedic myth, the gods are depicted with multiple eyes, so that they can see and understand more than mere mortals.
Celtic myth attaches a name to the aforementioned evil eye: Balor, who like the basilisk could kill a man with the weight of his gaze.
With that out of the way, you referenced your "missing" niche already: Dragonbloods are born exalts. Paragons may very well also be born to their status.
And Chips, just because half the characters he mentioned happen to be chuuni doesn't automatically make the powerset chuuni. That's a dullahan.

And Chips, just because half the characters he mentioned happen to be chuuni doesn't automatically make the powerset chuuni. That's a dullahan. All super valid points. I'll make sure to mix some of that into the idea. True, dragonblooded and paragon are natural born exalts, and I'm planning on basing the structure of the exalt on dragonblooded (Mainly the "choose one" with an asset to "choose two" plus the adamic-style assets with more powerful options). However, your mention of evil eye's and eye myths in folk lore makes me want to do this more now. I resent calling anime "Garbage", especially considering half the images in the DtD core book are anime, and we're talking about a game made on 4chan. One of my players was trying to figure out how to make a character with a sharingan, and we were both unable to find exactly what we were looking for (Reflection exalt kind of maybe sort of fit, but not really). I'll make it and we'll see if we can make it work. Don't worry. I'll do my homework

Oh, no. Please don't make the mistake of assuming I'm going that far to generalize.
When I say "garbage" I'm referring specifically to Naruto.
