Casual Casting Casting spells outside of combat, social combat, structured time, and similarly high-stakes environments automatically succeeds with the bare minimum to cast with no risk of psychic phenomena. You can telepathically send messages via whisper all you like when being able to isn't important.
I've used casual casting in other games past. I'm sure other people do too.
Elemental Fire Mounted Weapon You may use the elemental shot feat on vehicle weapons, as though on an infantry weapon.

Experience: Static Core Ability Costs Instead of costing an amount of XP dependent upon the previous rank of a Characteristic, Skill, or Power Stat: they now each have a static cost. 100 XP for the first rank of a Skill, and 50 XP for every rank thereafter. 200 XP for every rank of a Characteristic, and 300 XP to improve a Power Stat.
Alignment: Narrative Devotion Devotion is no longer purchasable through experience. Instead, when a character performs a deed that exceeds the expectations befitting their current rank of Devotion they roll an Alignment Check. Instead of gauging failure, should the tests succeed a point of Devotion is gained, negating relevant degeneration.
Sword Schools: All Weapons for Martial Maneuvers Martial Maneuvers can be used with any melee weapon, just like Gun Kata. Instead of granting access to new weapons with Martial Maneuvers, the first level of a Sword School grants a 1 point Restriction that makes a resulting Special Attack only usable with that Sword School's favored weapon.

Arrow IV
The damage for the Arrow IV weapon is listed as 6k1+30, in Battletech it deals the same amount of damage as the Autocannon 20. To match that amount of damage increase the Arrow IV weapon damage to 6k4+30.

Expanded Flamer Mechanics
If you're firing a Heavy weapon with the Flame property, doing it unbraced reduces the TN to dodge by 10 (to a minimum of 0). Using the Aim action increases the TN to dodge the Flame by 5 for Half actions, and 10 for Full actions. Weapon Focus adds 5 to the TN to dodge and Improved Weapon Focus adds another 5.

Hybrid style weapons are listed as capable of damaging Spelljammers. Their weapon profile at 'Jammer scale was not included. Hybrid Vehicle Weapons at Spelljammer Scale | Name | Damage | Disruption | Accuracy | Critical | Range | Arc | Type | Wave Motion Cannon
| 2k2 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | Narrow | Lance | Mega Particle Cannon
| 2k1 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 1 | Narrow | Lance | Arrow IV | 2k2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 | Narrow | Lance |
If an Arrow IV Launcher has the Homing upgrade increase its Accuracy to +5.

Less deadly fire Taking wounds from being on fire no longer inflicts fatigue
Less deadly brawling Unarmed attacks no longer inflict fatigue
Look, easily-inflicted fatigue is aggressively overpowered between the fire deathspiral and extremely weak punches being able to KO even the beefiest of characters after a few hits. I'm not saying 'fatigue gunning' shouldn't be a viable build, but pulling it off right now is just TOO easy and too effective. Knockout blow, less than lethal, and horrid wilting all still exist, you can still use those, they just require a little bit more investment.

Less deadly fire
Taking wounds from being on fire no longer inflicts fatigue lol. just as I was about to post this Alternate Fire rulesOnce a character is on fire, she loses one hit point at the start of her turn until the fire is extinguished. All damage from fire is treated as Energy damage for the purpose of determining Critical effects - if the location is not otherwise specified, use the body location. A character that is on fire may try to extinguish the flames herself by dropping prone and making a TN 15 Dexterity Test, which counts as a full action. The SM can make this Test easier or harder depending on environmental conditions and whether the blazing character is able to receive any help from nearby allies. If the character chooses not to extinguish the flames or failed the Dexterity test, she must roll a TN 15 Constitution test at the end of her turn or suffer 1 Fatigue.

Corollary to the blast hit houserule (ignore half damage on a successful dodge). No RiderIf you successfully dodge a blast (even if it dealt damage), any tests a hit instigates are automatically passed and other effects of the blast do not affect you.

Steel Rain Revision When making a full auto burst attack, it costs the target an extra reaction to dodge.
Steel rain as-is is bullshit, but giving it a cost is too severe in the other direction. This ensures anything without a resource stat is still doomed, but actual threats and pcs still have a chance.

Machinator Array sucks. You're basically getting power armor without the armor that also prevents you from swimming for some reason. Higher quality versions dont even provide any benefits besides being more easy concealed. Woopty do, I still cant swim but at least no one will stare at me when I go out to get my morning coffee. I always figured that higher quality arrays should be more like those exoskeletons from Elysium (the one with matt damon) or those augmentations that spartan 2's get for even higher quality array's.
Alternate Machinator Array (VRare) One of the most extensive cybernetic systems that can be installed in a living being, a Machinator Array is essentially an implanted partial exoskeleton, nearly impossible to conceal. The Array grants +1 to Strength, -1 to Dexterity, and +1 Resilience. When swimming, the bearer is treated as if they are wearing Medium or heavier armor. If the bearer is wearing Medium or heavier armor along with the array, the swimming TN is increased by 10. Poor quality Machinator Arrays are slow to move. The bearer can no longer Run or use the Dodge action. Good quality Machinator arrays are made of lighter materials with notches at several points on the body and extremities used to lock individual armor pieces to the array. This allow more fluid movement along the joints while wearing armor and makes it appear at least somewhat concealed, looking more like an exotic exoskeleton or suit of armor than an overpowered suit linked to the wearer's nerves. Static Defense penalty from armor is reduced by 2 and if the bearer is already wearing Medium or heavier armor, the swimming TN is increased by 5 instead of 10. Best quality arrays can be completely concealed, being fully integrated within the bearers body, though when the bearer exerts their full strength they often seem to 'bulk up'. This integration comes with the benefit of the bearers movements no longer being hindered by the array, due to both being able to synchronize with the nervous system far more effectively and its lighter weight from being further miniaturized. The bearer no longer suffers -1 to Dexterity and is no longer treated as wearing Medium or heavier armor while swimming.

Athletic Jumping The Athletics skill description literally mentions jumping as a thing you can do with it. Choose either Acrobatics or Athletics when making Jump rolls.
Spears are for stabbing, not throwing Because Javelins are a thing. Instead of regular spears, shortspears are the throwable Cavalry weapon using the same range of 10m.

Consolidated RollsWhen making an attack that requires multiple rolls to take effect (i.e. attacking with a trigger weapon's extra mods, or a sword school maneuver with a skill test requirement), make only one roll using the lowest rolled and kept dice vales from all of the skills invoked. (For example, if you want to make a melee attack with a dice pool of 2k3, and use a martial maneuver that requires a skill test that you have at 4k2, just make one roll at 2k2 to resolve the hit.) In the event that the two rolls have different TNs, either roll against the higher TN (for less math but a stricter threshold), or roll against the average TN (for a fairer test with slightly more math). Which rule to use is the GMs call, naturally. Note: I'm pretty sure the probabilities work out to be about the same using this house rule vs RAW, but I can "show my work" if anyone wants more info on how that shakes out. I’ll bite. Please show your work. How is that substantively different from “use the skill roll instead of a normal attack roll” and cut out the middle man? Your attack dice are almost always hogher than the skill/characteristic combo.

Damn, I hopped back on this forum for the first time in a year+ just a couple of days ago. Glad this comment came through while I'm actually around. Consolidated RollsWhen making an attack that requires multiple rolls to take effect (i.e. attacking with a trigger weapon's extra mods, or a sword school maneuver with a skill test requirement), make only one roll using the lowest rolled and kept dice vales from all of the skills invoked. Please show your work. How is that substantively different from “use the skill roll instead of a normal attack roll” and cut out the middle man? Your attack dice are almost always hogher than the skill/characteristic combo. That's basically the same logic I used when devising this house rule - the lowest dice pool in a chain of rolls is much more impactful in determining success of an action that requires multiple rolls. I worded this the way I did (i.e. "use lowest rolled and kept value" rather than "roll your skill dice only") to handle edge cases where the skill dice are higher than the attack dice or more than two rolls are required. I actually coded and ran a dice test back when I put this together, the code and results of which are long since buried in a backup drive somewhere. IIRC, this house rule resulted in a slightly lower success rate than RAW thanks to fewer chances for exploding dice, but it was close enougth to be worth the simplified rolls IMHO. I'll dig around and see I can't find those results, since there's interest...

Welcome back. Always glad to have a familiar face around here.
Ah makes sense then. If the difference is like, 2 or less ceteris peribus I could use it. Makes a real difference with attack focuses so I have to count that out since it’s a real disadvange. But it also means it may not be a real disadvantage. I’m trying to cut down on roll bloat much as I can for something.

I certainly didn't get as far as calculating a difference metric for the two methods, just plotted some histograms of a bunch of simulated rolls & calculated some basic descriptives (Come to think of it, the probablbility distributions of roll & keep with exploders aren't even CLOSE to normally distributed so I'm not quite sure what difference metric would even be appropriate... I'm coming at this with a behavioral science background though - a statistician might fare better). Anywho, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for but I did find some 10,000-roll simulation results from 1k1 to 10k10 - here's the link for those curious. If I find the time I'll probably code & run that comparison agian. Damn busy at the moment so that might not come about in a timeframe useful to whatever you're workign on, but I'll post the results should I get to them nonetheless.
