This thread is for gear and equipment that does not otherwise qualify as a weapon, ammunition, material, vehicle, or vehicle component.
Amplifier (Common) It does what it says. It amplifies audio input and outputs the same sound up to 120 decibels. It tends to multiply the sound input's distance by a factor of 100 up to that maximum. It comes with a microphone, but is can use any compatible sound input like an instrument.
Floating Drone (Common) A small floating machine about the size of a beach ball. It is harmless, has a speed of 2, and immediately breaks when hit. It can carry an object up to 50kg. They're common for newscasters and musicians to own.
Oxygen tank (Common) This tank of oxygen (or whatever the character might breathe) comes with a hose that allows one person to breathe for a total of two hours.
Spotlight (Common) It's like a torch, but bigger. It emits light in a cone in a variety of colors and can be upgraded 1 step of rarity to have a personalized image in the center.
Wetsuit (Common) This item allows the character to survive in cold environments for one hour unharmed.

Earmuffs (Very Common) Simple, usually fluffy coverings for one's ears, generally meant to keep them warm. Earmuffs muffle sounds when worn, providing a +1k1 bonus to saving throws against spells and effects based on sound (such as the Suggestion or Demand spells, or the Sage's Thunderous Rebuke power), and a -2k0 penalty to Perception tests based on sound. Wearers that can't be deafened don't take this penalty.
Meditant's Earmuffs (Rare) Much better-made earmuffs made specifically to block out white noise. These function just like more common earmuffs, but Deafen the wearer while worn. A wearer that can't be Deafened gains Heightened Senses (Hearing), as this wonderful accessory makes it even easier to hear important things. If such a wearer already has that feat, they gain an additional +1k0 bonus on saving throws and on Perception checks involving sound.
Gillsuit (Uncommon) These sealed suits are designed to trap water against the surface of the skin, and are designed with a slightly modified rebreather and air filter to humidify air taken in from outside. This allows creatures sensitive to dry environments to maintain a comfortable level of humidity. The canisters used in a gillsuit aren't any larger than those used for a voidsuit or rebreather, but use less water at a time, allowing them to last up to six hours.

Weapon Attachments - Optics All Optics are of Uncommon rarity. Only one may be mounted to a weapon at a time. Hi-ScopeA Hi-Scope provides a very high magnification, which is especially useful for conducting long range brain surgery. When a weapon with a Hi-Scope is aimed and fired on single shot, it reduces the penalty for Extreme range by one raise. If the aim was a full action, it reduces the penalty by an additional raise. Meson ScannerBulky but exquisitely precise Meson Scanners are useful for target acquisition through barriers. When aimed, the user may see through thin walls and the like out to 50m, allowing them to ignore any concealment granted to the target by virtue of their standing behind an opaque surface within that distance. Special shielding materials and walls more than half a meter thick may reduce the range at which the scanner is effective. Preysense SightA Preysense Sight uses thermal imaging to expose heat sources in low light combat. When aimed, the user gains Dark Sight. Reflex SightReflex Sights provide a holographic sight picture for ease of target acquisition. The user may make a half-action Aim as a reaction. SmartlinkA Smartlink system may be connected to a user's Mind Impulse Unit to enable them to see what the weapon is pointing at using an integrated camera. When firing the weapon from behind cover, only the arm(s) holding the weapon need be exposed. The user takes no penalty for firing into a melee. Weapon Attachments - Nonstandard Barrels All Barrels are of Uncommon rarity unless otherwise specified. Barrels for pistols have their rarity reduced by one. Only one may be mounted to a weapon at a time, and a barrel typically needs to be tailored to the weapon it's attached to: one does not simply take an Extended barrel from a Heavy Bolter and stick it on a Laspistol. ExtendedSimply an extension of a weapon's normal barrel. Weapons with Extended barrels increase their range by 20% of their base range, but attack rolls with Basic and Heavy weapons take a -1k0 penalty in Point-Blank range rather than the usual bonus due to their unwieldy nature while those with Pistols take -1k0 when used in melee combat. Heat SinkBarrels of this type vent excess heat through the cunning use of longitudinal metal fins. An additional 9 must be rolled on this weapon's damage rolls for the weapon to Overheat. HeavyA thicker and heavier barrel used to reduce vertical recoil. Weapons with Heavy barrels reduce the penalty for firing one-handed or unbraced by 1k0. Silencer (Pistol/Basic Only)Also known as a Suppressor, this barrel muffles the noise of gunshots. Despite the name it doesn't make the firearm perfectly silent. Tests to be aware of this weapon's attacks are made with a -2k0 penalty. Focus Nozzle (Flamers Only, Uncommon)Concentrates the flame output into a narrower and longer cone. Increase the weapon's range by 50% (rounding up) and increase the TN to avoid getting hit by +5. Reduce the cone-shaped area's coverage by 10 degrees. Weapon Attachments - Underbarrel Gear Only one Underbarrel attachment, Melee attachment, or Combiweapon may be mounted to a weapon at a time. Flashlight (Pistol/Basic Only, Common)Functions as a Torch that provides 12m of light in a 30-degree cone. Foregrip (Common)Used to enhance one's control over a firearm, a Foregrip allows a weapon to benefit from Short Range out to the weapon's normal range rather than just half of it so long as the user has both hands on the weapon. Backup Battery (Uncommon)A Backup Battery allows for a longer usage time before recharging is necessary. The Recharge quality may be ignored the first time a weapon with a Backup Battery is fired in a scene. Bipod (Common)An attachment typically used to provide a stable firing platform for long-range rifles. Attacks made with a weapon with a Bipod are made at +1k0 if the weapon is braced. Grapnel Launcher (Pistol/Basic Only, Rare)Attaches a grappling hook launcher with a wire line that's 100m long for Basic weapons and 50m long for Pistols. Wheeled Mount (Heavy Only, Uncommon)Inspired by TV studio cameras, this is essentially a telescopic pole on a wheeled platform for easy mobility. This weapon gains Rooted but always counts as being braced unless it's knocked over. Weapon Attachments - Ammo Container Only one may be attached to a weapon at a time, and ammo containers are typically tailored to the weapon they're attached to—you can't take an Extended Magazine from an Autogun and expect it to work with a Lascannon. Primitive weapons cannot benefit from this. Extended Magazine (Uncommon)Increase Clip size by 50%. Jumbo Mag (Rare)Doubles Clip size but increases reload time by 1Full. Heavy Duty Capacitors (Non-Flame Energy Weapons Only, VRare)Halves the weapon's range but gives it Volatile. Consecrated Filter Canisters (Flamers Only, VRare)Targets use Willpower instead of Dexterity to avoid getting hit. Replica WeaponExactly as the name implies, weapons that resemble the real thing but can't perform any harm. Its rarity is three categories lower than the base weapon (to a minimum of Ubiquitous). Due to its mysterious nature and rarity, there are no replicas of Syrneth weapons. Good quality versions have mechanisms that allow it to imitate the weapon's operation and Best quality versions can even produce sound and harmless mock projectiles. Replica Grenades (Common)Exactly what the name implies, fake grenades. It doesn't do anything aside from maybe look convincing. Great for pranks, at least.

OmniSeal (Very Rare)This almost miraculous substance is composed of a highly adherent nanite/ceramite mix able to patch up even the most grievous of damage to any vehicle, be it great or small! It's so resistant it's even capable of environmentally seal your vehicle (Warning, OmniSeal TM is not bullet, laser, explosive-or-magic proof and thus OmniSeal TM is not responsible if misuse of OmniSealTM and all related products cause damage to the buyer and/or its property) OmniSeal TM packs, whether they come in tubes, sprays or tape, heal one Hit Point or restore 1 AP to vehicles per dose used, of which every container has 10 doses. Alternately, one pack of OmniSeal TM is enough to grant a vehicle (which doesn't have the Open Canopy flaw) Environmental Seals until it's manually removed or the vehicle takes any kind of damage. OmniSeal does not function on Living vehicles or on Warforged as their anatomy is too complex to be simply fixed by the product and may be harmful to the health if applied.

Multicompass (Rare)Bringing new spheres into the fold is hard work, harder still without a good mapper to keep track of what's around. After a few seconds of analyzing a sphere's data (which needs fetching from a dataslate or similar), a multicompass can display directions, show topographical maps, point out compass bearings, indicate altitude, and much more.

Biomonitor (Rare) This compact device measures a wealth of information about the wearer. Heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and so on. It usually comes in the form of a wrist band, and when connected to a micro-bead can send an automated signal in a medical emergency. Poor quality Biomonitors only provide blood pressure. Good quality Biomonitors can also analyze biological samples.
Bug Scanner (Uncommon) Also known as a radio signal scanner. When operated as a half action this device can tell the direction of any wireless device in a 20m area. Poor quality scanners require you to move in and out of range to get a sense of direction. Good quality scanners can display a visual map of the area and any wireless devices within.
Directional Microphone (Uncommon) Helps you listen in on distant conversations as if you were 100m closer to your target. Obstructions, and debris may inhibit function, and audio quality. Heavy obstruction makes it near impossible to understand, and light obstruction requires a TN 20 Perception test to understand. Poor quality microphones increase the TN to understand by 10. Good quality microphones lower the TN by 10.
Geiger Counter (Common) Detects the amount of radioactivity in the surrounding area.
Laser Range Finder (Uncommon) Emits a laser beam that is reflected off a target's surface, and picked up by a detector to calculate the exact distance to the target. Usually accurate up to 1km with normal atmospheric disruption. Up to 5km in clear space. Poor quality range finders become inaccurate after half a kilometer. Good quality range finders can read accurately in open space up to 25km.
Loudspeaker (Very Common) The loudspeaker is an important piece of technology for civil folk across nearly all Crystal Spheres. It is a small device capable of producing recorded, or live sound. It requires a connected data slate, or similar device to function, some can even be worn over the ears. Poor quality loudspeakers have multiple audio errors, and are overall unpleasant to listen to. Good quality loudspeakers come with a small battery good for two hours, and can wirelessly connect to devices.
Motion Sensor (Rare) Uses ultrasound and low-powered infrared to detect moving individuals in a 30 degree cone. The motion sensor must be mounted on a stable surface to operate properly.

3D Maneuver Gear (Very Rare)3D Maneuver Gear is a harness and grappling hook system developed in a far off crystal sphere to fight against a massive menace troubling them. It consists of a belt/harness, two tanks of gas, hand mounted controls for aiming the grappling harpoons, and a gas fueled turbine mounted on the small of a back. Operating the 3DMG is done through two basic actions, Anchoring and Maneuvering. Anchoring is a Half Action and requires you to designate a target and roll a Ballistics check against it. If it is a living/moving target, use it's Static Defense as the TN for the ballistics check for Anchoring. If the target does not move, the base TN is 15, +5 for every 10 meters away they are. Maneuvering is also a half action, and consists of you pulling yourself to the target, and uses the same TN as Anchoring. Anchoring into something causes 5 points of damage, if this is more than the cover rating (or armor (resilience if unarmored) for living beings) the anchoring fails. Maneuvering to a living being requires an opposed test, the target's strength in rolled and kept dice versus the user's size in rolled and kept dice, the loser being moved to the winner. Poor Quality: -5 static penalty to all Maneuvering tests Best Quality: +5 static bonus to all Maneuvering tests Cyberdeck (Uncommon)Cyberdecks are portable hacking computers that also function as dataslates. The user can perform tech use tests with one to hack software devices. They're about the size and weight of a violin case, but they can be personalized. Good quality cyberdecks are small and light enough to be worn on the arm and best quality can be as small as a glove with a holographic display/interface. ICE Pick (Uncommon)An ICE pick hacks automatically. Just stab it in and get going. The quality of the ICE pick determines how strong the hacking is. If you connect your Cyberdeck to the ICE Pick, you can control what it does manually. They hack with a tech use roll of 2k2. Good quality picks roll 3k3, and best quality picks roll 4k4 with specialty (hacking). An ICE pick may perform tech use rolls in the user's stead for purposes of sword school and gun kata restrictions. Optional - Hacking Rules: Hacking a machine, promethean, warforged, etc. is mechanically (heh) simple. It qualifies as a social attack using tech use + intelligence, but can be made during normal combat via applicable to-hit rolls with a device capable of hacking and refuted by the target via a tech use + willpower roll. It can drain two Resolve from the target before they become jaded, but this does not count toward normal social combat draining of Resolve.
Hacking non-intelligent machines require a roll with a TN equal to the roll to program it. Such machines have Resolve equal to their programmer's dots in tech use. They do not become jaded unless you fail a hacking roll. If the machine's resolve is reduced to 0, you've hacked the machine. Congrats!

Binary Adhesive (Uncommon) This adhesive comes in the form of a thumb-sized tube of opaque gel with a small aerosol spray on the opposite end. The gel can be spread as a Full action, and when catalyzed with the spray will adhere to any object that contacts it during the next five minutes. The adhesive bond is as strong as the objects it binds, and cannot normally be broken without damaging or destroying the objects. If flesh is adhered it will cause 1 wound to that hit location if ripped free. A second spray of the catalyst will release the adhesive.
Crowbar (VCommon) An old classic. Grants a free raise to any strength-based test to pull, pry, bash, etc, and can be used as a Club in combat. Poor, Good, and Best quality Crowbars function as a club of the same quality.
Data Siphon Sheath (Rare) These devices most often take the form of a near-invisible transparent overlay that fits over the nail of the wearer’s index finger. When touched to a computing device or other data storage hardware the sheath automatically reads and copies the device’s internal state to its own molecular memory. While this does not necessarily defeat any encryption on the data, it does create a perfect copy for later download to another machine. A standard Data Siphon Sheath has enough memory to encode the memory of a single other device, while Good and Best quality Data Siphon Sheaths can store the memory of 2 and 3 devices, respectively. Poor quality DSSs require a TN 15 Tech-use test to activate.
Digital Storage Deck (VRare) The cutting-edge technological equivalent to a Bag of Holding, Digital Storage Decks allow for the storage and rapid deployment of equipment on the battlefield. DSDs can hold up to 10 items in spatially-compressed state, and can store or retrieve an item as a Move action regardless of size. Only personal-scale items (no larger than 2 meters in the largest dimension) can be stored in a DSD.
While substantially cheaper than a Bag of Holding, DSDs have several drawbacks compared to their magical counterparts. Artifacts cannot be stored in a DSD, as the storage deck cannot adequately cope with the magical principals involved in spatially compressing a powerful magical item. Most critically, items stored within a DSD will become unrecoverable if the DSD is damaged or destroyed – protect your deck!
Good and Best quality DSDs can store 15 and 20 items, respectively, whereas Poor quality DSDs require a TN 15 Tech-use test to store or retrieve an item.
Drop Cover (Rare) This small “puck” emits a 2*1 meter wall of force when activated (armor 12 if used for cover). A Drop Cover puck can be thrown as a grenade, manifesting the force-field at the location it lands, or placed at the user’s feet as an Attack Action. The force field created by a Drop Cover puck lasts for one scene, after which the Drop Cover is burnt out and useless (i.e. one use only). Good-Quality Drop Cover can be deployed on walls and ceilings as well as floors, whereas Poor quality Drop Cover requires a TN-15 Tech-use test to deploy.
Gravity Anchor (VRare) When this palm-sized device is attached to a surface and activated it immediately creates a zone ten meters in radius where 1 G of gravity is exerted perpendicular to the plane of the device. Within this area occupants can maintain terrestrial habits without the inconvenience of microgravity. If the anchor is activated within an existing gravity well the zone overrides local conditions. Thus, if a character attaches it to a wall before turning it on, everything within 10 meters will promptly fall into the wall and rest there until the power runs out for the anchor. Has battery life for 24 hours of operation in microgravity, but only 1 scene of operation within a gravity well, (double and triple duration for Good and Best quality Gravity Anchors, respectively). Poor quality anchors require a TN 15 Tech-use test to activate.
Mapping Cloud (Rare) These nanite mists are contained in small cylinders attached to sheets of blank polycomposite “paper” meant to receive the eventual map. If the mist is triggered it will immediately expand out to a range of 200 meters, recording the general outlines of terrain, passages, rooms, and other major features in the area. Once released from its cannister, the cloud completes a single map before dispersing.
Pressure Tent (Common) This tent maintains a breathable atmosphere, tolerable pressure and temperature, and serviceable sleeping quarters for up to five very friendly occupants. Advanced filtration and cracking tech allows a single standard voidsuit oxygen tank to provide breathable air for the occupants for up to 24 hours. Standard version requires a TN 10 Survival test and several minutes to set up, Good quality pressure tents can self-assemble in the same amount of time without a roll, and Best-quality pressure tents are puncture-resistant with an effective Armor of 3. Poor-quality pressure tents are just… regular tents.

Reference (VCom) A reference is a textbook, manual, or other source of instruction. All references relate to a single Skill Specialty (for example, Reference (Academic Lore: Economics) or Reference (Ballistics: Gunnery)). A character who studies the reference for 30 minutes will gain +1k0 on the next test to which the reference’s Specialty could apply.

Because it somehow didn't exist. Multi-Tool (Uncommon)An item any self-respecting handyman would never leave home without, multi-tools are instantly recognizable many-in-one devices. A character using a multi-tool is considered properly equipped for almost any Crafts Test.
Also: nerfed ICE pick's good and best quality bonuses.

Long Fall Boots (Very Rare) A pair of boots designed to mitigate blunt force trauma from, say, falling off a building. However, these aren't very much useful if you don't land on your feet. Succeeding on the Acrobatics test to reduce fall damage also halves falling distance when calculating damage. You also land on your feet if you don't already have the Catfall feat. Poor-quality versions are only rated for a certain height before failing, only subtracting up to 20m of falling distance before the rest is taken normally. Good and above quality boots will absolutely not break from the force of a landing but they can still be broken by other means. Best-quality versions halve falling distance one more time when calculating damage.
Item by Yog-Sothoth, blatantly modified by me.
Welding Goggles (Common) These dark filters allow one to retain their eyesight in both welding and war. Those wearing them gain two raises to resist dazzling and blinding effects, rolling against TN 10 to resist even those effects that normally would not be able to be resisted, but take a check on visual Perception tests.
Item also by Yog-Sothoth.

My take on the jumppack has been removed. I think the book 1 artifact is severely overcosted but that’s for the errata thread. Also I forgot it existed for a while. I’ll put something else in the post at some point.
